Partners in Education

The Partners in Education Program is a collective effort of the Cobb Chamber, the Cobb County Public School System and the Marietta City Public School System that matches businesses and organizations with schools to provide extra funding, unique services and volunteer support. The vision behind the Partners in Education Program is to enrich the learning experience of Cobb’s children so that all develop a strong academic foundation, skills and core values that will benefit them in their community life and in a career.

Do you want to join the small and large businesses, civic groups and non-profits that are instrumental in providing Cobb schools with volunteers, equipment, supplies, scholarships, in-kind services and cash donations? Participation in the program provides opportunities for businesses to:

  • Heighten awareness of present and future job needs.
  • Understand the quality and needs of the public school systems, whose health is vital to the community's economic well-being.
  • Be recognized as a community involved company, which adds to public relations efforts.
  • Improve the education of future employees and customers

There is no financial investment associated with the program, but participants are asked to make a one-year commitment to engage in quarterly activities with their partner school.

Partners in Education who are also members of the Chamber of Commerce receive a special badge and category in our membership directory to help promote your business as a key contributor to the education community.  We also offer incentives for Partners in Education when you sign up to become a new member of the Cobb Chamber!  To find out more, or if you are a Chamber member and your business’ Partners in Education designation isn’t showing in our directory, please contact Nate Futrell at nfutrell@cobbchamber.org.

PARTNERS IN EDUCATION COVID-19 RESPONSE

In responding to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, our local public schools have faced unprecedented challenges as they continue providing the world-class education that sets Cobb apart.  These challenges present unique opportunities for our business community to support students and teachers.  This year, the Cobb Chamber is partnering with Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools to overcome the challenges brought on the coronavirus pandemic.

To get started, complete the Partners in Education COVID-19 Response form, and the Partners in Education program manager will help you get connected to a school.

Complete the form here.

No matter how big or small, or what your business does, there’s a need you can help meet.  Here are a few ways you can help:

Financial Donations: Supporting needs like child care, food security, digital / distance learning equipment, etc.

In-Kind Donations: Especially impactful donations include, but are not limited to, school supplies, computers and peripherals (ear buds, headphones, etc.), mobile hotspots, and services such as preparing donated computers for student use, etc.

Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers may be helpful for a variety of needs.

Social, Emotional, and Academic Support: Providing services and experiences that support the social, emotional, and academic development of students, such as stress management classes, internet safety classes, internships, virtual business tours, and virtual “day in the life of” experiences.
