Each year one person’s and one business’ efforts to improve and support community health and healthcare infrastructure are awarded with Cobb & Douglas Public Health's Health Hero Award. 2020 will provide a unique year for this award. Over the last few months, hundreds of Health Heroes have stepped up to assist local businesses and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of which may not have considered themselves Health Heroes prior to COVID-19 but showed their stripes in their determination to keep employees safe and ensure people had what they needed to continue to eat, learn, and thrive safely.

Nominees must meet the following conditions:

1.  Provide health and wellness services, support health issues, or support the healthcare workforce in Cobb County;
2. Must currently live or work in Cobb County; and
3. Must be a member of the Cobb Chamber. For more information on membership, click here.

The application deadline is August 10, 2020. This year the award will be given during the Healthcare & Biotech Industry Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020.
