Give Our Schools A Hand

Held annually, GOSH is a celebration that honors more than 120 Teachers of the Year from Cobb County, Marietta City and post-secondary education systems. This salute to public education is one of the largest in the nation.

Originated in 1988, the purpose of GOSH is not only to show appreciation for teachers in the community, but also to encourage area businesses, parents, and civic groups to take an active role in enhancing the quality of education.

HANDPRINT UNVEILING CEREMONY

At the Handprint Unveiling Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 12, the Cobb Chamber will uncover the handprints of the Cobb County and Marietta City system-wide Teachers of the Year with a crowd of students, colleagues and members of the community. The public is invited to attend this event at The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre in historic Marietta Square, as the two honored teachers leave their handprint legacy on the Teacher Walk of Honor.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR PEP RALLY

Continuing the salute to education, the pep rally on Tuesday, Oct. 24 honors all Cobb County and Marietta City and post-secondary Teachers of the Year. Local students will cheer on their favorite teacher of the year and enjoy entertainment through dance and musical productions from our local schools.
