Senator Jennifer Jordan (District 6)

Senator Jennifer Jordan was sworn in to the Senate on December 15, 2017, representing the 6th district including parts of Smyrna, Vinings, north Atlanta and Sandy Springs. Jordan is a member of the Banking and Financial Institutions, Government Oversight, Interstate Cooperation, Reapportionment and Redistricting, Science and Technology, and Special Judiciary committees.

Raised in rural South Georgia by a single mom who worked as a hairdresser, Jen Jordan learned first-hand the value of hard work and the importance of creating an economy that works for everyone. It was Jen's public-school teachers who encouraged her to go to college, and by studying hard and working minimum wage jobs, Jen found a way to complete her education. From kindergarten to graduating magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of law, Jen is a product of Georgia's public education system. And because of her passion for fairness, Jen became a lawyer who stands up for those the system has failed. Jen has been a resident of the Sixth District for more than 15 years, where she lives with her husband Lawton and two children.

Senator Kay Kirkpatrick (District 32)

Senator Kay Kirkpatrick, MD, a Republican, represents the 32nd District, which includes East Cobb and Sandy Springs. She serves as a member of the Health and Human Services, Public Safety, Science and Technology and Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committees.

Senator Kirkpatrick has been an orthopaedic hand surgeon in Atlanta for over 30 years and was previously the president of Resurgens Orthopaedics. Senator Kirkpatrick serves as a team leader at the Ronald McDonald House where she participates in pet therapy through the Happy Tails Pet Therapy Program. She is also a district coordinator for the Medical Association of Georgia’s Medical Reserve Corps. and is determined to contribute to Georgia’s ability to respond to disaster and emergency situations. Dr. Kirkpatrick is a consultant and lecturer on patient safety in surgery. She is also a member of the East Cobb Rotary.

Senator Kirkpatrick graduated from the University of Kentucky and earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville. Her husband Tom is an emergency physician. She and Tom have two young adult children. Kay and Tom are active members of East Cobb United Methodist Church.

Senator Michael Rhett (District 33)

Senator Michael Rhett was first elected to the state Senate in 2014 to represent a portion of Cobb County. He is the first African American to be elected to the state Senate from Cobb County. Senator Rhett is member of the Retirement, Banking and Financial Institutions, Economic Development and Tourism, and Veterans, Military and Homeland committees.

Senator Rhett currently serves as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserves at Dobbins Air Force Reserve Base in Marietta, GA, where he manages personnel, prepares young people for leadership and works as a training instructor for the 700th Airlift Squadron. Senator Rhett is a Vocational, Educational and Instructional Coordinator at Jefferson Place and City of Refuge. Senator Rhett is the Jr. Vice Commander of American Legion Post 296. Among the various community committees he serves on, he is a member of the Cobb County NAACP, Cobb County SCLC, Austell Community Taskforce, Powder Springs Economic Development Committee, Six Flags Drive Stakeholder Economic Community Development Committee and the Cobb County Commission of the Children & Youth. Senator Rhett is a trustee for Turner Chapel AME Church in Marietta.

Senator Bruce Thompson (District 14)

Senator Bruce Thompson was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2013. He represents Senate District 14, which includes portions of Cherokee, Bartow and Cobb counties. Sen. Thompson serves as Vice Chairman of the Science and Technology Committee and Secretary of the State Institutions and Property Committee. He is also a member of Economic Development and Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committees.

Sen. Thompson served four years in the United States Military as a tank commander. Since his time serving in the military, Sen. Thompson has become a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He currently owns two software companies, Quoteburst and Lifecycle, as well as a company that manufactures automatic and manual pool covers, Coverstar Automatic Safety Covers. He also serves as a board of director or Northside Bank and as an insurance agent for Allstate.

Senator Lindsey Tippins (District 37)

Senator Lindsey Tippins was first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2010. He represents Senate District 37, located in Northwest Cobb County. He serves as Chairman of the Education and Youth Committee and sits on the Appropriations, Judiciary, and Transportation committees.

Sen. Tippins previously served for 12 years on the Cobb Board of Education during which he served as chairman for three years. He is the past president of the Georgia Utility Contractor Association and the North Georgia State Fair and has served as a long time board member of both organizations. Sen. Tippins is a board member of the Calvary Children's Home, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Atlanta Metro region), and was appointed by Governor Perdue to serve on the Georgia Student Finance Commission.

Senator Horacena Tate (District 38)

Senator Horacena Tate was first elected to the Georgia Senate from the 38th District in 1999. Sen. Tate currently serves on the Appropriations, Education and Youth, Health and Human Services, Retirement, Rules and Urban Affairs committees.

Dr. Tate currently serves as president of Tate, Marsh and Associates, Inc., a software training, management training and technical writing firm. Sen. Tate is very active in community affairs. She has been the computer literacy advisor for the Butler Street YMCA, a volunteer software instructor for local churches, a delegate representing ClarkAtlanta University at the International Community Education Conference in Trinidad and a speaker for several Metro Atlanta public school functions. During 2001, she served as vice president of Rosalie Wright Community Council. Sen. Tate currently serves as chair of the Atlanta-Fulton County Senate Delegation.

Representative Erick Allen (District 40)

Representative Erick Allen was first elected in 2018, and now serves on the Banks & Banking, Code Revision, and Human Relations & Aging Committees. Erick believes that Georgia as a state placed a high value on public education, promoting small businesses, and supporting minority entrepreneurship. He has grown his own consulting firm, which focused on workforce performance and development. As a result, Erick has worked side-by-side with small and medium-sized companies and non-profits in order to help steer them through the recent economic recession. He currently works as a talent management consultant for a global firm.

Representative Teri Anulewicz (District 42)

Representative Teri Anulewicz was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in a special election in November 2017. She represents House District 42, which includes parts of Smyrna and Marietta, as well as areas in unincorporated Cobb County. Prior to her service in the Legislature, Teri spent a decade representing Ward 3 on the Smyrna City Council. She was first elected in 2007, and was elected to her third term in 2015. In 2016, she was appointed Mayor Pro Tem.

In addition to representing Ward 3, Teri is involved with organizations including the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the Girl Scouts of America, and the Junior League of Atlanta. In 2008, she was named a "20 Rising Stars Under 40" by Cobb Life Magazine, and in 2012, she was recognized as a Woman of Achievement by the YWCA of Northwest Georgia.

Representative Roger Bruce (District 61)

Representative Roger Bruce was first elected in 2002 and serves the constituents of House District 64 including parts of Atlanta, as well as unincorporated parts of Douglas and Fulton counties. He currently serves as a member of the House Committees on Game, Fish & Parks, Judiciary, and Small Business Development and Job Creation. Bruce was one of five members of the General Assembly selected by the Center for Policy Alternatives to participate in a one year national leadership development program. Upon completion of the program he was honored to be recognized as a Flemming Fellow, a very select group of national policy makers. Bruce is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for Atlanta Life Financial Group.

Representative John Carson (District 46)

Representative John Carson was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in October 2011 Special Election run-off. He represents the 46th District, which includes northeast Cobb and southeast Cherokee Counties. He is a CPA and is employed with SunTrust Bank in the Commercial Real Estate group. John was previously employed with Home Depot (Atlanta), KPMG (Atlanta, London UK, and New York) and GE Capital (Connecticut).

John belongs to the following civic/professional organizations: Northeast Cobb Business Association, Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Cobb County YoungLife (Committee member), Georgia Society of CPAs, and the Commercial Finance Association. Representative Sharon Cooper (District 43)

Representative Sharon Cooper was first elected in 1996 and is currently serving her 7th term as the State Representative for the 41st District of Georgia. In 2000 Cooper was chosen as legislator of the year by the Georgia Republican Party and in 2002 she was elected Caucus Chairman by her Republican colleagues. In 2004 she was elected Majority Caucus Chairman making her the highest ranking woman in the Georgia House. In 2007, in response to her ever increasing committee responsibilities, Rep. Cooper assumed the role of Caucus Chair Emeritus.

Currently Rep. Cooper chairs the Health and Human Services committee, one of the busiest committees in the House. She was also appointed chairman of the Special Committee on Certificate of Need as well as chair of the Special Committee on Grady Hospital. Rep. Cooper is also a member of the Rules, Judiciary Non-Civil and Regulated Industries committees.

Representative Matt Dollar (District 45)

Representative Matt Dollar was first elected as a member of the Georgia General Assembly in 2002. He represents House District 45, which includes parts of Cobb County. Dollar serves on the World Congress Building Authority. In the legislature, he serves as Chairman of the Interstate Cooperation Committee and is a member on the Appropriations, Insurance, Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment, and Transportation Committees. Outside of his legislative duties, Dollar works as a commercial real estate broker.

Representative Ginny Ehrhart (District 36)

Representative Ginny Ehrhart was first elected in 2018, and is a member of the Higher Education, Information and Audits, and Regulated Industries Committees. Ginny advocates for families and speaks to audiences on a wide range of topics, including domestic violence. She most recently organized a grassroots group which monitored the progress of Cobb County’s school bus stop arm law. Ginny’s merits as a hands-on small business owner and entrepreneur influence her conservative-minded policy platform. Public health and safety, transportation and education are priorities. She brings a broad, pragmatic and solution-oriented perspective to public service that she believes citizens want under the Gold Dome.

Representative Sheila Jones (District 53)

Representative Sheila Jones was elected State Representative for District 44 in November 2004. As a Freshman Legislator, Representative Jones secured funding in the Budget for the Adult Day Care Program at the Harriett G. Darnell Multi-purpose Facility. This is a great accomplishment for a Freshmen Legislator. Improving the quality of life in all of our communities is at the forefront of Representative Jones' legislative agenda. Representative Don Parsons was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1994, after serving in the United States Army Reserves and the Army National Guard for a total of 16 years, then in the telecommunications industry for 35 years. Representative Devan Seabaugh (District 34)

Representative Devan Seabaugh was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in a special election in July 2021. He represents House District 34, which includes parts of the cities of Marietta and Kennesaw, as well as areas in unincorporated Cobb County.

He is the vice president of administration for MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, a private ambulance company providing 9-1-1 ambulance service and inter-hospital medical transports service throughout the greater Atlanta area.

Raised in Marietta, Rep. Seabaugh is a graduate of Marietta High School, University of West Georgia, West Georgia Technical College and the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cobb Class of 1998 and Honorary Commanders Class of 2000.

Representative Ed Setzler (District 35)

Representative Ed Setzler was first elected in 2004, serving as the Chairman of the General & Juvenile Law Subcommittee of Judiciary Committee (Non-civil) and on the Education, Appropriations, Transportation, and Rules committees.

As a citizen legislator, Rep. Setzler works as an Engineering Manager at MACTEC, a nationwide engineering and environmental firm based in metro-Atlanta. Representative Michael Smith (District 41)

Representative Michael Smith represents the 41st House District of Georgia, which includes Marietta, Powder Springs, and Smyrna. Smith ran for office because he wanted to bring commonsense and leadership to the General Assembly. Since he has been elected, Smith has built a proven track record of fighting for policies that will reduce the amount of regulations and create an environment that will help to strengthen our nation's economy and create jobs, protect our seniors, and return fairness to our justice system.

Representative Erica Thomas (District 39)

Representative Erica Thomas was first elected to the State House in 2014, serving parts of Austell, Mableton and Smyrna. Thomas is a member of the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Juvenile Justice and Science and Technology Committees.

Rep. Thomas’ adamant support for young children urged her to develop Speak Out Loud, a non-profit with the vision of giving a voice to foster kids who have been silenced because of their circumstances. She instills knowledge, ambition and a sense of purpose into the lives of young people, so they will be able to take control of their lives and defeat the odds. Speak Out Loud has expanded across the country, and established chapters in Sapeles and Lagos, Nigeria. In her effort to create a better study environment for young children, Erica is working on building libraries across the continent of Africa. In 2013, she received the Ambassador for Peace Award from the Global Peace Foundation. In addition, Erica has served as Political Chair for the Young Democrats of Georgia.

Representative David Wilkerson (District 38)

Representative David Wilkerson has been active in Georgia politics for nearly 20 years. He has volunteered on numerous campaigns and served in various leadership positions with the Democratic Party, where he recently served as Cobb County Democratic Party Chairman. David was the first African American to serve in this position in Cobb County. Currently, David is a Project Consultant at Deloitte & Touche of Resources Global Professionals.

His volunteer activities have included Junior Achievement, Osborne Community Coalition, Russell Elementary PTA and Dad's Club, Cobb County Schools Facility and Technology Committee, the Cobb Schools Foundation, serving on local non profit boards, and serving as an Elder at his church.

Representative Mary Frances Williams (District 37)

Representative Mary Frances Williams represents a large portion of the city of Marietta and a part of unincorporated Cobb County in the Georgia House of Representatives. She sits on the Government Affairs, Natural Resources & Environment, and State Properties Committees. Prior to her election in 2018, Mary Frances spent 34 years as a legislative and public policy advocate, working primarily for nonprofits serving women, children and families.
