Award Winners

Not only does Annual Dinner celebrate the many accomplishments of the year, it also celebrates those individuals who make these achievements possible. Three awards are given from the Cobb Chamber, and the Marietta Daily Journal named the 2019 Citizen of the Year.

2020 Honorees

Chairman's Award

The Chairman’s Award, was awarded to Trey Sanders of Brasfield & Gorrie, Chad Koenig of Cushman Wakefield, and Andrew Walker of Colliers International for their collective efforts on the Chamber’s landmark building project. The project included the marketing and sale of the Chamber’s previous building at 240 Interstate Parkway North, the selection and leasing agreement of the Chamber’s new location at 1100 Circle 75 Parkway, and the construction management of the build-out of the new space.

 

Mack Henderson Public Service Award

The 2019 Mack Henderson Public Service Award was presented to Susan Hampton. This award recognizes an individual who embodies the philanthropic legacy of Mack Henderson through outstanding commitment and dedication to building a better quality of life for the citizens of Cobb County. Hampton served as a tireless advocate for the county’s public safety personnel, speaking up for higher wages. She is also an instrumental leader for the continuous work of the Coalition of Cobb County Business Associations.

 

Len Gilbert Award

The 2019 Len Gilbert Award was given to two individuals Andrew Dill of Lockheed Martin and Tammy Palmgren of Kaiser Permanente. This award is presented to an outstanding board member who, through his or her leadership, commitment and dedication achieved new heights for a Chamber program or event. Dill was honored for his work with the Chamber’s advocacy efforts and its Government Affairs Committee. During 2019, Dill welcomed different state legislative leaders to committee meetings, creating open lines of communication between Chamber membership and state decision makers. Tammy Palmgren was honored for her leadership of the Chamber’s brand identity project. Palmgren led the project and revealed the Chamber’s new visual and verbal identity system in December. The key message for the Chamber’s new logo and brand is, “A Seat at the Table.”

 

Marietta Daily Journal's 2019 Citizen of the Year

The Marietta Daily Journal presented its prestigious 2019 Cobb County Citizen of the Year Award to Joyette Holmes, Cobb County District Attorney. The Marietta Daily Journal has presented this award since 1963 at the Cobb Chamber Annual Dinner.
