Award Programs

Our prestigious award programs honor the talents of individual members and celebrate the innovative works of Cobb’s greatest corporate citizens. Throughout the year, the Cobb Chamber presents the following award programs:


Business Community Service Awards

The Sam Olens Business Community Service Awards recognize deserving member businesses for service to the community through support of not-for-profit organizations.


Citizens of the Year

Citizen of the Year Awards are given to honor an individual whose impact through the years will be recognized and regarded with pride throughout the area as a role model. These outstanding citizens were chosen for their definable, exceptional deeds, with which he or she has made their community a better place to live. Awards were given to deserving individuals based on local area nominations.


Woman of Distinction

The Woman of Distinction Award has been given annually by Cobb Executive Women at the Cobb Chamber’s First Monday Breakfast in May to a woman who has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her professional endeavors, community involvement, ethical sensitivity and social responsibility thereby supporting and advancing their community and respective fields.


Public Safety Employee of the Year

Given annually in October at the Public Safety Appreciation Breakfast, the Public Safety Employee of the Year honors an individual who has performed his or her job with exceptional skill, expertise, innovation and results, exhibited leadership and increased employee morale, and exhibited critical incident management and a devotion to responsibilities. If circumstances warrant, Awards of Merit, Valor, and/or Distinguished Achievement are named.


Health Hero Award

The Health Hero Award recognizes qualified individuals and agencies who, through outstanding and dedicated service have made significant positive impact on the health of our community. This award gives recognition to outstanding, significant and innovative activities and accomplishments by an individual or organization.


Next Generation Award

The Next Generation Award celebrates the accomplishments and influence of young professionals in the workplace and community, and is given by Cobb Young Professionals.


Small Business of the Year

Established in 1982, the Small Business of the Year awards honor the important role that small businesses play in the Cobb community and the economy. In 2004 the Cobb Chamber honored a Top 25 to showcase more of these exceptional companies that make Cobb County a great place to live, work and play.
