Woman of Distinction Award

The Woman of Distinction award will be given annually by Cobb Executive Women at the Cobb Chamber’s First Monday Breakfast in May to recognize a woman who has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her professional endeavors, community involvement and social responsibility thereby supporting and advancing their community and respective fields.

Nominees must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have not been a previous recipient of the Woman of Distinction Award.
  2. Have a minimum of 5 years history of promoting or supporting women in the workplace, not exclusive to Cobb.
  3. Must currently live or work in Cobb County.
  4. Must be members of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. 
  5. Must meet the membership qualifications for Cobb Executive Women (CEW). Membership in CEW is not required.


Criteria for CEW Membership:

Membership is open to Cobb Chamber of Commerce members who are executives in or more of the following categories:

  1. Executive Management - Must manage a budget and/or team
  2. Professional Occupations - Licensed Professional such as an M.D., C.P.A., or J.D. as determined and verified by the Professional Board in Georgia for that particular field
  3. Business Owners - Must be registered with the secretary of state and have a valid business license
  4. Professional Occupation wherein employment responsibilities include significant company-wide impact in the areas of sales, marketing and/or substantial financial responsibility and are coupled with significant community contributions as reflected on prospective member’s application
  5. Elected or Appointed Officials

Congratulations to the 2017 Award Winner


Tracy Rathbone
Congratulations to the Town Center Community Improvement District Executive Director, Tracy Rathbone, for winning the 2017 Woman of Distinction Award!

Tracy Rathbone is the Executive Director of the Town Center Community Improvement District (TCCID). In her role, Tracy works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, state, county and city leaders and TCCID constituents to invest the approximately $3M of tax funds received each year to develop parks, trails and infrastructure. Responsibilities include oversight and direction of all aspects of the CID’s strategy and execution, providing executive leadership, and ensuring the appropriate management of the tax funds received.

As a Cobb County native, Tracy is actively involved in her local community, serving in a number of volunteer capacities including: Cobb Chamber Board Member, Cobb’s Competitive EDGE Board Member, President of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association, The Strand Theatre Advisory Board, The Walker School Parent Ambassador Committee, and Chair-Elect of liveSAFE Resources. She is also a member of the 2017 Leadership Atlanta Class, Atlanta Regional Commission, Cobb 2040 Steering Committee, Council for Quality Growth, Kennesaw Business Association, Marietta Kiwanis, 2015 Regional Leadership Institute, Women in Transportation and Cobb Executive Women.

Tracy was recognized with the Spirit Award for her work with the Leadership Cobb Class of 2012 and received the McNeel-Gilbert Award for League Service from the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta in 2011. Tracy was named one of Cobb County’s “Top 20 Under 40” by Cobb Life Magazine in 2013 and was named a 2014 Woman of Achievement by liveSAFE Resources.
