Honorary Commanders Alumni Notes


Travis Ellis (‘09) and Demming Bass (’11)
were named two of Cobb Life Magazine’s 20 Rising Stars under 40 of Cobb County.

The Historic Marietta Trolley Co. has expanded into Atlanta with the opening of the Peachtree Trolley Tour in March. Cassandra Buckalew (’11) owns and operates both companies.

Congratulations to Sandy Miller (’08) and Amy Knudson (’11), who were honored at the 27th Annual Tribute to Women of Achievement on March 23.

Mazi Mazloom (’12) was selected by Atlanta Magazine and Super Lawyers for the third year in a row as a Rising Star. The publication vets attorneys from more than 70 practice areas throughout the U.S. who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Pam Younker ('07 and chair 2009-2011) and her husband Ron will receive the Servant Leader Award at the MUST Ministries Spring Gala on May 4.

Wayne Dennard ('09) was recently sworn in as Acworth’s chief of police. 

Congratulations to police Chief Bill Westenberger (’11) who was presented with the Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency that promotes a culture in which American employers value their military employees.
