Retired executives offer
free
counseling through SCORE program
The Cobb Chamber of Commerce is
pleased to announce a strategic partnership with SCORE Atlanta.
SCORE (Service Corps of Retired
Executives) volunteers are available at the Cobb Chamber to answer small
business questions, including how to write a business plan, how to acquire
funding and what are key marketing strategies.
SCORE is a non-profit association
dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success
of small businesses. Working and retired executives and business owners
donate their time and expertise as volunteer business counselors and
provide confidential counseling and mentoring free of charge.
SCORE can match a business
industry type with a counselor most experienced in that field. All SCORE
counselors have the expertise to meet the basic needs and requirements of
most businesses.
By working with SCORE volunteers,
businesses can access experienced professionals from Fortune 500 companies
such as General Electric, Coca-Cola and Hewlett-Packard.
“We are excited to offer this
phenomenal program for free to the Cobb business community,” said Don
Beaver, senior vice president of economic development and chief operating
officer for the Cobb Chamber. “By working with these exclusive
volunteers, business professionals can gain knowledge and wisdom that only
years of experience can bring.”
SCORE also offers valuable
seminars and workshops that can help business people enhance their chance
of succeeding.
A national organization founded in
1964, SCORE is a resource partner with the Small Business Administration.
Located at the Cobb Chamber, SCORE hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 770-859-2321 for an appointment.
