Community Essentials
Leadership Cobb
Leading by example allows Leadership Cobb participants to directly impact
the Cobb community. Forty-five individuals are selected annually to
participate in this leadership development program. Leadership Cobb enhances
personal and professional growth while participants gain awareness of
current issues, community resources and the social, political and economic
needs of the community.

Leadership Cobb Alumni Association
The purpose of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association (LCAA)
is to support the Leadership Cobb program and to
encourage, develop and promote the leadership potential
of its members through networking and continuing
education on relevant issues involving Cobb County.
LCAA sponsors Cobb Youth Leadership (CYL), a leadership
program for rising high school juniors that focuses on
developing leadership skills through interactive
participation.

Honorary Commanders Association
This program is a cooperative effort of the Cobb Chamber,
Dobbins Air Reserve Base and Naval Air Station Atlanta.
The Honorary Commanders Association annually selects community and
business leaders and pairs them with military commanders in a yearlong
program, giving those leaders the opportunity to learn
more about local military activities, their impact on our
economy and various aspects of the national defense
system. The association includes units of the Army, Navy,
Air Force, Marine Corps, Air National Guard and Army
Guard.

Education
Involvement of businesses like yours in our schools is key
to their success. Cobb County enjoys some of the finest
schools in the nation, and the Cobb Chamber facilitates
this success through our Partners In Education program.
Partners In Education couples businesses with schools to
provide volunteer support, extra funding or unique
services matched to the schools’ needs. We are proud to
have more than 700 Partners helping every school in Cobb.
We also support Character Education, a school-based
program that reinforces good character in students.

Project 2400
Project 2400
is a partnership between the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s
Area Councils and the Cobb County and Marietta City
school districts to implement a SAT Preparation Class
for eligible students.
Project 2400’s
goal is to provide the SAT preparation class prior to
the May 2007 SAT for as many students as possible,
making an impact on the individual student and the Cobb
and Marietta City’s school systems’ scores.

Public
Safety
The Cobb Chamber annually recognizes the contributions of
public safety personnel through a weeklong community
effort. The Public Safety Employee of the Year and other
awards are given at the annual Public Safety Recognition
Awards Breakfast in October.

The Arts
The Cobb Chamber displays artwork by six different
artists annually in its gallery at the Chamber building,
located at 240 Interstate North Parkway. Artwork is
provided by The Artists' League of Cobb County.
