A Slice of PIE

Principal for a Day
Just before the first bell rang on March 20, more than 100 elected officials, community and business leaders stepped into the role of “Principal for a Day” at Cobb County and Marietta City’s public schools. This marks the seventh year of the program bringing forth the challenges and rewards of the public school system to the business community.
Participants jumped right into classroom walk-throughs, administrative meetings, and much more. Principals for a Day had a hand in school operations and took note of the staff’s efficiency and ability to multi-task.
The half-day program also allowed principals to gain insight into the business perspective on planning for school programs.
The fun and informative day increased awareness of the need for cooperation between the business community and the school systems. The Principals for a Day were able to interact with educators and students in a unique, enriching environment, strengthening their relationship.
