Conservation Challenge
at Park Street Elementary
With the help of their Partners in Education,
Marietta Power & Water and
Park Street Elementary
have been able to educate students about water conversation
and reduce their water usage by 30 percent.
“Pot
of Gold” at at Park Street Elementary
United Community Bank promotes
positive behavior by donating tickets to The Lion
King on Stage to the finalists of the “Pot of Gold”
cafeteria positive behavior program.
Gold’s Gym of West Cobb “Fit Kids” at
Lovinggood
Partner in Education,
Gold’s Gym of West Cobb, holds several sessions of
the “Fit Kids” program at Lovinggood Middle School's
Physical Education classes. The half hour kickboxing/martial
arts classes encourages and inspires students to lead a
healthy and active lifestyles.

TaeKwon Do Plus Exercises Students’ Minds and Bodies
When taking a break from being guest instructors in Physical
Education classes,

grabs Vaughan
Elementary students’ attention by reading
adventurous books.
Moving to the Music at Hickory Hills
Hickory Hills Elementary
students move to a beat all their own with the help of
professional dancers from
Georgia Dance Conservatory Home of the Ruth Mitchell Dance
Theatre. As Partners in Education, Georgia Dance
professionals instruct students on a regular basis and
provide unique opportunities to attend performances.
Georgia’s Better Business Bureau Nominates
the Omega Learning Center
This year Georgia’s Better Business Bureau
nominated the
Omega Learning Center for its Community Service and
Customer Satisfaction awards for all the work they do with
the community and their investment in the education system
and children’s futures. As Partners in Education with both
Cobb County and Paulding County schools, this organization
has been able to give $7,500 in education grants yearly, as
well as dedicating countless hours of volunteer time.
The Center for Family Resources’ Youth
Leadership Development Course
Several students from Cobb Performance
Learning Center will graduate from
The Center for Family Resources’ Youth Leadership
Development course on May 7, marking the conclusion and success
of the 10-week program. The program focuses on introducing
the students to leadership and the importance of the community with
weekly sessions covering topics from “I’ve Got the Power—I’m
Going to Make a Difference” to “Discovering Who I Can
Become”. They also complete community service projects, such
as a food drive for The Center for Family Resources.
