Award Winners

Not only does Annual Dinner celebrate the many accomplishments of the year, it also celebrates those individuals who make these achievements possible. Three awards were given from the Cobb Chamber, and the Marietta Daily Journal named the 2017 Citizen of the Year.

2018 Honorees

The 2018 Chairman’s Award was presented to Jeff Fucito of Mauldin & Jenkins. This award recognizes outstanding leadership, dedication, commitment, support and enthusiasm to the Cobb Chamber. Fucito works behind-the-scenes as chair of the Chamber’s Finance Committee since 2015, and has ensured that our Chamber is financially sound.

The Mack Henderson Public Service Award was presented to Tim Brown of Marietta High school. This award recognizes an individual who embodies the philanthropic legacy of Mack Henderson through outstanding commitment and dedication to building a better quality of life for the citizens of Cobb County. Brown engineered the formation and leadership of a team which ultimately secured a $3 million state grant for the Marietta College and Career Academy.

The Len Gilbert Award was given to two individuals, Cynthia Reichard of Arylessence and Greg Morgan of Mauldin & Jenkins. This award is presented to an outstanding board member who, through his or her leadership, commitment and dedication achieved new heights. Reichard and Morgan co-chaired the Chamber’s strategic planning project, leading a 50-person committee and receiving input from over 1,000 people to shape our future direction.

The Leadership Award was presented to the Atlanta Braves Organization. This award is given under special circumstances, honoring an individual or group whose extraordinary leadership, vision and trailblazing efforts have significantly impacted the Cobb community. One of the most impactful economic development projects of our generation was the Atlanta Braves’ decision to move to Cobb County., with SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta transforming our community and economy.

The Marietta Daily Journal presented its prestigious 2017 Cobb County Citizen of the Year Award to Superior Plumbing Owner Jay Cunningham. The Marietta Daily Journal has presented this award since 1963 at the Cobb Chamber Annual Dinner.
