2015 Small Business of the Year

Cumberland Diamond

Cumberland Diamond Exchange was named the 2015 Small Business of the Year by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce at the June First Monday Breakfast, presented by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Cumberland Diamond Exchange is a first generation, family owned full service, fine jewelry retailer, which has been ranked in the top 5 percent of independent, specialty jewelers in the U.S. Owners Mark and Rhonda Jacobson execute a business strategy where the company’s purpose is driven by connections with people. Many jewelers sell jewelry, but what sets Cumberland Diamond Exchange apart, is its belief that relationships sustain and grow a business.

Cumberland Diamond Exchange is a leader within its industry offering unparalleled customer service and supreme dedication to the Cobb community. The Jacobsons believe it’s their responsibility to create a better community through partnerships with non-profits. There’s a long list of organizations that have benefitted from their leadership, including SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia, American Cancer Society, and the WellStar Foundation.

This business has grown exponentially since its launch in 1982 with just two employees in a rented showroom. In over 30 years, this business’ staff, collections and services have substantially grown. In 2014, Cumberland Diamond Exchange expanded its footprint with a new space that exemplifies Southern hospitality and the culmination of their efforts has resulted in the warmth and sparkle of a network of 50,000 friends.
