One of the standout qualities of the Cobb community is the strength of our educational assets. The Cobb Chamber and other supporters are proud to aid in the continued development of the county’s two public school systems and post-secondary institutions. The power of collective effort is evident with the following programs:
Give Our Schools a Hand
Every October, the Cobb Chamber hosts two community-wide Give Our Schools a Hand events to honor and show appreciation for more than 130 Teachers of the Year from Cobb County Public Schools, Marietta City Schools and post-secondary institutions.
Partners in Education
The Partners in Education program is a collective effort of the Cobb Chamber, the Cobb County Public School System and the Marietta City Public School System that matches businesses and organizations with schools to provide extra funding, unique services and volunteer support to help meet the schools’ needs.
Principal For a Day
The Chamber places volunteers in Cobb County and Marietta City schools to experience a half day as a Principal For a Day, with one-on-one time with the principal, meetings with the faculty, as well as time in the classroom with students.
Teacher For a Day
Business community members are invited to become a Teacher For a Day, given the opportunity to work side-by-side a Teacher of the Year at a Cobb County or Marietta City school for a day. Participants gain firsthand knowledge of the challenges and strengths local educators face on a daily basis.
Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL)
The Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) honors outstanding technical education students of Georgia. The Cobb Chamber partners to award four scholoarships to top students at Chattahoochee Technical College.
