Job Shadow
The Cobb Chamber in partnership with Junior Achievement of Georgia is seeking participants for the 4th Annual Job Shadow for Cobb County and Marietta City middle school students. Participants will host a class at their workplace for a half day on Tuesday, Nov. 16. We hope you will consider participating! Job Shadows will start at 10 a.m.

The Job Shadow experience is designed to open the eyes and minds of students to the career possibilities awaiting them while developing the critical link between the skills they are learning and the importance of this knowledge to career success.
We understand that taking time away from work to travel to a school to volunteer is not always an option. As a Job Shadow host, you and your colleagues will become influential role models to students in only a few hours without even leaving your office. The Job Shadow experience will boost employee morale and cohesiveness, provide a fulfilling, unique community service opportunity for everyone, promote your company or organization’s involvement in education and prepare our future workforce.
Please review the participation criteria below and involve potential participants in your discussions.
As a Job Shadow host, you will be responsible for:

Securing commitments from a minimum of 8-10 employees to host 1-3 students apiece for the 3 ½ hour program on November 16. Classes range from 20-30 students.

Attending a 15-30 minute orientation and planning a program agenda with a Junior Achievement representative.

Providing lunch for the students and chaperones (typically pizza and soda).
