2010 Cobb Chamber Chair-Elect
Dr. Greg Simone

   Dr. Greg Simone, M.D. of WellStar Health System is the Cobb Chamber's 2010 Chair-Elect.

   Dr. Simone was named President and Chief Executive Officer of WellStar in June 2007. Prior to his position at WellStar, Dr. Simone served as President and CEO of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) in Marietta for 27 years. Beginning as a two physician practice, CVM is now the largest cardiology practice in the WellStar service area and one of the largest in metro-Atlanta.

   After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Dr. Simone received his medical degree from Emory University and his MBA from Kennesaw State University. He completed his medical internship and residency with Emory University Affiliated Hospitals.

    He has served on the Board of Trustees for WellStar and is a member of the Cobb County Medical Society, WellStar Health Network and Medical Association of Georgia and was past president of the Kennestone Medical Staff. As an advocate for the American Heart Association, Dr. Simone is a member of its Metro-Atlanta Advisory Board. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cobb Chamber, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, and VHA GA.

   Dr. Simone has two daughters and he and his wife reside in Marietta.
