The Cobb Chamber of Commerce celebrated 2009 Chairwoman Dr. Lisa Rossbacher’s year during its 68th Annual Dinner on January 23, 2010 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
In her year-end remarks, Rossbacher spoke about the many accomplishments of the Cobb Chamber during the past year.
The crowd saw Rossbacher pass the chairman’s position to Rob Garcia of Bank of North Georgia. Also welcomed to the 2010 Chamber leadership were Chairman-elect Dr. Greg Simone of WellStar and First Vice Chairman Tony Britton of Wachovia Bank, A Wells Fargo Company.
The Cobb Chamber honored its 2009 Board of Directors and gave several prestigious awards.
The Chairman’s Award was given to former Cobb Chamber President and CEO Bill Cooper. This award recognizes outstanding leadership, dedication, support, enthusiasm and commitment to the Cobb Chamber. During his 11 year tenure, the Cobb Chamber was accredited as a 5-Star Chamber by the United States Chamber of Commerce and is recognized and respected throughout the country for being the best.
The Mack Henderson Public Service Award, which is presented to an individual who is outstanding in his or her commitment and dedication to building a better quality of life for the citizens of Cobb County, was given to Devan Seabaugh of MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service.
Seabaugh’s long-standing and proven history of service and leadership to the community has made Cobb County a better place to live.
The Len Gilbert Award is presented to an outstanding board member who, through his or her leadership, commitment and dedication achieved new heights in program development. Due to such an outstanding 2009 Board of Directors, who went above and beyond, two recipients were chosen, Education Chairwoman Lisa Crossman of Cobb and Douglas Public Health and Government Affairs Chairman Shawn Davis of Breakpoint Consulting. Both of them were exceptional in service and leadership to the Cobb Chamber in 2009.
Fifteen individuals were honored with Lifetime Membership Awards, an award given to those with outstanding 2009 Membership Campaign production. Honored for campaign efforts were:

The Marietta Daily Journal gave its prestigious 2009 Cobb County Citizen of the Year award to Cobb County Manager David Hankerson, The Marietta Daily Journal has presented this award since 1963 at the Cobb Chamber Annual Dinner.
The master of ceremonies was media coach and speech consultant Chris Davala, president of Cobb-based SmarTalk, Inc. The invocation was offered by Dr. Bryan E. Crute of Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church. PRIME provided the musical entertainment, while Carithers Flowers supplied the floral decorations and Entertainment Design Group provided audiovisual services.
